More than 30 years of experience testing. Over 160 drivetrain test benches worldwide. More than 800 highly-qualified employees. This is ATESTEO today. Everything started in Aachen, Germany in 1986 with the vision of supporting the automotive industry to develop vehicles through reliable, independent, and high-quality tests of powertrains and transmissions. Since then, after reaching many milestones and attaining many achievements, ATESTEO has developed into the leading drivetrain testing specialist for automobile manufacturers and automotive suppliers in the entire world.

  • Opening of the North Testing Center with 20 drivetrain testing stands in Tianjin, China
  • Name change in ATESTEO GmbH & Co. KG

2017

  • Opening of the Munich location with 10 drivetrain testing stands
  • Acquisition of leading road test service provider straesser
  • Establishment of new drivetrain testing centre in Tianjin, China
  • ATESTEO becomes part of IHO Holding

  • Putting into operation of hall VIII testing stand building

  • Technical Center opening party

  • 20th anniversary of the founding

  • Start of production of the MTD mechanical torsion damper at GAT – Gesellschaft für Antriebstechnik / GAT Drive Engineering

  • Putting into operation of hall IV testing stand building

1998

  • Putting into operation of hall III testing stand building and the MPZ (Vehicle Technology Measuring and Testing Centre GmbH)

1997

  • Beginning of construction of a research and development centre in Alsdorf with measurement system, roller dynamometers, drivetrain testing stands, laboratories, workshops and office buildings

1996

  • Foundation of the Gesellschaft für Antriebstechnik mbH (GAT) / Drive Engineering mbH, as a joint venture with Mannesmann Sachs AG, now ZF Sachs AG

1995

  • 76 employees

1991

  • Completion of the administrative building with additional test stands and workshops in Aachen

1987

  • Putting into operation of the first test stand

1986

  • Foundation of Gesellschaft für Industrieforschung mbH (GIF) / GIF mbH Industrial Research by employees from the Institute of Automobile Technology of RWTH Aachen: Development services for the automobile industry (focus on test stands)
